i once thought i felt my heart beating,
but the boy who brought it on
was walkign away before i could tell him.
to avoid further fallings,
i took it out of my chest,
placed it in a shoe box
and hid it under my bed
where no light could reach it
and no one could hear it
not even me.
it collected dust for a long time,
i am not sure how long.
then a boy, fermiliar,
though much less a boy then before
said some words, a phrase
made my chest hurt a little.
i did not put my heart back where it belonged, no.
i wasnt ready for that yet.
instead i put his address and some stamps
on the box where she was hidden
he'll have to put it back for me,
he'll have to bring it to me,
for it to be part of me again.
